Areas of Expertise
Anesthesiology and Intensive Care is a discipline that underpins surgical success and places patient safety and comfort at its centre. In my practice, my priorities are preparing the patient for surgery as safely as possible, protecting their vital functions during the operation, and ensuring the period afterwards passes with as little pain as possible.
1. Thoracic surgery anesthesia
Surgical procedures on the organs within the chest — the lungs, the oesophagus, the mediastinum — require anesthetic management that is physiologically complex. Protecting the lungs during surgery and managing their functional capacity form the core of my work in this field.
2. One-lung ventilation
This is an advanced technique in which the lungs are ventilated independently of one another, used in thoracic surgery to expose the surgical field. It requires the patient's respiratory mechanics to be monitored and optimised with precision so that the operation can be carried out safely.
3. Postoperative pain management
The most critical stage of recovery after surgery is effective control of pain. So that the patient can mobilise early, perform breathing exercises and stay comfortable, I apply individualised multimodal pain management protocols. Alongside systemic medication, these draw on advanced regional techniques.
